10 days until Christmas! We have several old school CDs in the car that are just for Christmas. The 2-disk collection from Handel’s Messiah, mixes of anything from old pop songs to Barbershop Quartet, and albums from favorite artists. Our car is suddenly a little haven of celebration and worship in the midst of the holiday-related chaos when we go out and about in December.
Question of the Day: What’s your favorite Christmas album to listen to this year?
My Answer: I‘m cheating and picking two.
- Christmas Music Vol. 1 by Evan Wickham. It’s hard to find original Christmas songs that hold up to the classics that we’ve grown up with, but Evan’s lyrics are powerful and thought-provoking. Exactly what I’m looking for during this season.
- Let It Snow Baby… Let It Reindeer by Relient K. Because sometimes I don’t want traditional-sounding, nostalgia-ridden music all December long. The selection of lesser-played Christmas songs and unique (sometimes weird) arrangements keep things fresh and fun.
