Don’t be afraid to shine! Does it make you an oddball sometimes? Sure. Do you get noticed (and not always in the fun way)? Absolutely. Can it be hard to find a friends who get you? Yep. But you’ve got to stay true to you and keep doing what you do. What makes you stand out might be what makes you really outstanding.

Favorite Fiction – Fantasy

IMG_7422-edits

Some of my favorite fantasy reads. A lot of these writers have heavily influenced my ideas of what a good book should be. Imaginative folklore and compelling villains. Worlds that unfold as beautifully as if they’re characters instead of places. Heroes and heroines who believe in themselves and put their talents to good use. Friendships that melt your heart, and humor that keeps you coming back when you need a good laugh.

Question of the Day: What are your favorite fantasy books to recommend to friends?

Distractions have to wait until Camp NaNoWriMo is over, which includes little things like binging season 2 of Miraculous Ladybug on Netflix, taking pictures of new-thrifted books for Instagram, and editing those pesky sentences that are clearly riddled with mistakes and somehow written completely backward. Keep moving forward!

Question of the Day: What’s your biggest distraction during NaNoWriMo?

Favorite Fiction – Dear America

Historical fiction was one of my favorite things about being homeschooled. It technically counted as a part of our history homework. I could curl up and read about a girl who had to sell pig bristles to make money, or sisters who supported the troops by sewing coats for cute boys. In a way, history was exciting and unimaginable as any fantasy world.

Question of the Day: What’s your favorite historical fiction?

I believe in puns! I believe in comic strips, and silly skits, and humorous asides. Wordplay, dad jokes, memes, and ridiculous riddles are are all warmly welcomed.┬áBeing serious just isn’t my style. Rolling On the Floor Laughing shouldn’t make people roll their eyes, it should be an invitation! Let’s do more Laughing Out Loud for real. There’s plenty of great material out there.

Question of the Day: Who do you think is funny?
