Apprenticed under the unpredictable and equally unimpressive S. Theodora Markson, young Snicket is swept off to a small town under orders to find and return a valuable artifact to its owner. While Theodora gets busy with the case, Lemony has problems of his own to solve.
Even in the dim room, I could see the insignia on the letter, which matched that of my letter of introduction. I’ve never cared for it.
