Show & Tell – Lettering

I know a music teacher. She has a saying; “Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes better”. I think this is a great reminder for anyone interested in art, music, baking, or just about anything, actually. Sometimes we can get focused on getting something right, when the truth is, that’s not really the point. By exploring possibilities, trying new things, and challenging ourselves, we can achieve something better than perfection. We can grow.

Question of the Day: How do you challenge yourself?

This one, I think, is called a Yink. He likes to wink, he likes to drink. He likes you drink, and drink, and drink. The thing he likes to drink is ink. The ink he likes to drink is pink. He likes to wink and drink pink ink. SO… if you have a lot of ink, then you should get a Yink, I think.

Show & Tell – Lettering

lettering2018-quote-fakeit

Being brave is hard. Trying new things is hard. Knowing that I’m failing is hard. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, more often than not, nobody notices until I point it out myself. Instead of pointing out your own flaws, try to see yourself from someone else’s point of view. See the you that’s being brave. See the you that’s stretching your limits. See the you that’s tackling the challenge head-on. If you pretend you’re as ______ as you want to be, you can become it.

Question of the Day: Are you trying something new this year? What is your greatest struggle?
