Apprenticed under the unpredictable and equally unimpressive S. Theodora Markson, young Snicket is swept off to a small town under orders to find and return a valuable artifact to its owner. While Theodora gets busy with the case, Lemony has problems of his own to solve.
Even in the dim room, I could see the insignia on the letter, which matched that of my letter of introduction. I’ve never cared for it.
As a big fan of Lemony Snicket’s writing, I eagerly jumped into Who Could That Be at This Hour? with high hopes. A series of mysteries uneasily unfold with the undeniable flair of noir fiction. The signature sass and sarcasm we’ve come to expect from the author is present, along with that nagging sensation that everything could most certainly take a delicious turn for the unfortunate at any moment.
Knowing something is wrong and doing it anyway happens very often in life, and I doubt I will ever know why.
If you already love A Series of Unfortunate Events, this is another series from which you won’t be able to look away!
